Come enjoy discussions and lectures with PAFA scholars covering a variety of topics related to PAFA’s exhibitions, collections, and areas of interest. Now you can enjoy these lectures from the comfort of your couch. 

Celebrate the last few days of a Passover with a lecture highlighting  Jewish artists represented in PAFA’s collection, namely Albert Rosenthal, Harvey Dinnerstein, Florine Stettheimer, and Helen Frankenthaler.  Art Historian Dr. Katerina Romanenko will focus on artistic styles and personal backgrounds, the conversation will contribute to the ongoing larger discussion of the complex nature of Jewish identity in America.

Dr. Katerina Romanenko is an experienced educator and visual culture historian specializing in object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds PhD in Art History from The Graduate Center, CUNY and currently works as the Assistant Director of the Youth and Family Programs at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. In the past, she worked as the Associate Director of Education at the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia where she developed and presented educational programs exploring the history of Jews in America. For over a decade Dr. Romanenko leads tours at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and presents lectures, workshops, and guided tours in New York City and the Greater Philadelphia Area.
