Good Pitch Local returns to Philadelphia this summer for a third edition in partnership with PhillyCAM on July 27, 2021 in a half-day virtual event. Good Pitch Local supports short-form non-fiction media projects and powerful stories from community leaders addressing issues urgent and important to local communities. It provides a powerful platform for collaboration and impact, connecting participants to resources and partners, strengthening networks and communities. The live event will feature a curated selection of pitches and presentations in an atmosphere of radical collaboration, where storytellers and change-makers connect with funders, media platforms, and partner organizations that can help ensure these stories get made and make a difference.

Good Pitch Local is about providing a platform for stories with local connections that include themes urgent and pertinent to our times from the COVID public health crisis to the racial justice movements of this past year. Past projects have encompassed themes of criminal justice reform, climate change, education activism, profiles on local artists and leaders and much, much more.

Good Pitch Local Philadelphia will be streamed live from 1:00pm-4:00pm EST on July 27. Makes sure to write to us now to get your invite!

If you have questions about the program or would like to learn more, please contact goodpitchlocal@phillycam.org.

What Happens At Good Pitch Local?

At the live event pitches are made, moderators work the room, and individuals step up to offer support of all kinds to advance the projects to production and community impact. The day includes presentations from experts in media and impact offering good ideas and actionable insights.

As of now we are envisioning this as a digital event and are exploring ways to introduce in-person networking into the live event. Our team is closely monitoring the guidelines for in-person gatherings and any changes to the program will be communicated to potential participants and audience members here on our website and via email.

This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
