It was every laser nerd’s dream come true in Las Vegas this past weekend, where leading DJ/Producer Gareth Emery blew away his 4th Laserface production at the renowned Palms Casino Resort’s Pearl Theater.

What has become one of the most innovative and technologically advanced productions of all time, Gareth Emery has rounded up his dream team (aka the ‘Pew Crew’) including genius laser operator Anthony Garcia, to go above and beyond in creating a truly once in a lifetime laser experience for fans. Succeeding as a top cutting-edge and imaginative show that has graced the electronic industry, Laserface is one night full of pure bliss under a sea of immersive lasers and the most vibrant colors you’ll ever see.

From New York, to San Francisco, to Vancouver, to Las Vegas, Gareth and his team up the ante of Laserface each and every time, cranking up their utmost creativity and perfection of sound and light production. This time around, artists Alex Madden and Emma Hewitt primed fans for the two-hour set to come from Gareth with a slew of energetic tracks as well as endless beautiful vocals and blissful melodies by the ever-popular Emma Hewitt.

From start to finish, Gareth constructed yet another exquisite set to entrance fans with a mix of classic anthems, booming remixes, a selection of a few of his favorite songs, and so much more in between. Emma Hewitt also joined back on stage to perform a heart-rending tribute to Avicii for “Without You,” while Gareth took over on piano for the emotive song under golden laser lights. Closing with his timeless record “Sansa,” under heavenly white lasers, Gareth sent off another 10/10 Laserface show.

Spanning across all corners and levels of the glorious Pearl Theater, trance family fans danced their hearts out to anthemic tracks like “Hands,” “Long Way Home,” “Into The Light,” “Concrete Angel,” “Saving Light,” “Reckless,” “Call To Arms,” and a whole lot more. Hitting the crowd right in the feels with his angelic version of Ed Sheeran’s “Castle On The Hill,” Gareth’s set progressed with unreal renditions of The Killers – “Mr. Brightside,” CHVRCHES – “Bury It,” and one of the most adrenalizing drops of the night from his throwback team up with Krewella for “Lights & Thunder.”

Potentially just as entertaining as watching the show was watching people’s faces and reactions to the literal madness of the beaming lasers shooting off stage. From euphoric rainbows to hypnotizing solo auras of every color on the spectrum, the Pearl Theater was nothing but a trance and laser Utopia. We can honestly say this experience not only lived up to our exceedingly high expectations but shattered them. It was such a special feeling to be surrounded by people who traveled far and wide to see this very performance and stand there together in awe.

Las Vegas in all its monstrosity turned out to be an ideal location and is also home to the Palms’ Apex Social Club, where Gareth hosted the official Laserface after party. Yet another wildly successful gathering, fans stumbled up to the Apex rooftop to watch another two hours of Gareth up close and personal, and this time with a breathtaking view of the entire Las Vegas skyline. The perfect end to the perfect night, it seemed everyone went home in the best of moods, surrounded by their best friends. All night long it was evident how many crews got together to come out and celebrate this spectacle of a lifetime, surrounded by like-minded people and a whole lotta love – and lasers. It was just so rewarding to be a part of such an intricate and mind-boggling show, unlike anything we have ever seen before. Knowing how much hard work and long nights of planning must have gone into this makes the finished product that much better. We know the pew crew pours all of their love and passion into these performances, and that’s exactly what makes this such a next-level experience. Next up, Dreamstate – SoCal you better be ready for this one!
