Team Lucy Meyer

Lucy Meyer has visited countries around the world including Jamaica, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Kosovo. (More to come!) In these countries, programming from both Special Olympics and UNICEF gives children the opportunity to play together, participate in health screenings, and creates valuable health forums where families can come together and learn from each other.

Lucy highlights the progress being made and brings attention to areas that still need improvement.

Lucy’s visits to Capitol Hill keep acceptance and inclusion top of mind for government officials and other key decision makers.While in meetings, Lucy advocates for kids with and without disabilities, emphasizing the importance of acceptance and inclusion, not only for kids in the US, but all over the world.

Lucy loves speaking to fellow kids in schools – spreading the message to students with and without disabilities. She often participates in PE classes, demonstrating how fun inclusive sports are for everyone, and has meaningful Q&A sessions that change hearts and minds about what it means to have a disability.

Spreading the message of acceptance and inclusion far and wide is one of Lucy’s passions. Lucy's work has been featured in the press, television, and on the internet in the U.S. and abroad. She loves sharing her experience with Special Olympics and UNICEF USA.

Lucy has received awards and recognition for her work advocating for inclusion. Through receptions and speaking engagements, Lucy has raised millions from donors, enabling them to join Team Lucy Meyer and help kids with and without disabilities.
