Atlanta Education Stakeholder Summit

The 2020 Atlanta Education Stakeholder Summit includes a panel discussion on supporting students and families facing the COVID-19 and racial injustice pandemics featuring students, guardians, and teachers. Attendees will also participate in interactive sessions with leaders from 10 amazing organizations, institutions, and schools that are representative of our city's education landscape. Each participant will have two opportunities to learn more about an organization and its leadership, as well as help brainstorm opportunities specific to the organization of their choice.

The end goal being to connect Atlantans with opportunities to support organizations leading the charge in the education and youth development space -- for short and potential long-term engagement.

Tickets are donation-based. Give any amount that you're comfortable giving, small or large. Your donation is helping facilitate this important conversation.

Featured Organizations:

• Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation -- AVLF hopes to engage stakeholders to provide additional wraparound services for parents and caretakers, student truancy, and other matters that would strengthen a family's chance at finding and keeping stable housing.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters -- With 300 kids placed on a waiting list for a mentor each year, Big Brothers Big Sisters seeks to work with the community to recruit more mentors -- in particular, men of color -- to serve students in south Atlanta.
• Better Outcomes for Our Kids -- BOOK seeks to find new partners and develop funder relationships to assist in the organization's goal to build stronger relationships in the African American community through engagement and better understanding of school options
• Georgia Charter School Association -- GCSA wants to strategize ways to engage local communities to grow advocates and support for public charter schools, translating that engagement to support on local school boards.
• Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network -- GSAN hopes to increase engagement with the community and expand their network, including strategizing fundraising ideas and social media marketing strategies.
• Generation Infocus -- Generation Infocus seeks to further enhance online job training readiness and expand STEAM Works learning subscription kits. In addition, Generation Infocus wants to strategize a sustainable virtual approach to their work, which is traditionally hands-on, boots-on-the-ground.
• Latin American Association -- LAA is developing a strategic plan to improve mentor recruitment and increase fundraising. LAA hopes to discover engagement strategies to help foster strong mentor/mentee relationships as a means to increase student success.
• Leap Year -- Leap Year is seeking to create lasting corporate partnerships to earn revenue and create "Career Discovery Days" to allow students to experience professional career options first-hand.
• Hollis Innovation Academy -- Hollis is seeking input as they build programming to support students and families in areas beyond academics -- increasing access to healthy food, post-secondary track programs, and family-based economic mentoring.
• Purpose Built Schools Atlanta -- Purpose Built Schools serves 1700 students in the Carver cluster of APS. They are seeking to enhance the experience of partnering with Purpose Built as they continue to build their model.
